In normal times, we would be celebrating 50 years of achievements since the first Earth Day, April 22, 1970. Tens of millions of people across the world would be celebrating in the streets and demonstrating for a better environment. These are not normal times!
April 22 is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. 1970 an estimated 20 million people turned out to demand that our government protect the health of our people and planet. This event lead to ground breaking legislation protecting our air and water and the creation of the EPA – Environmental Protection Agency.
