In the middle of the pandemic, with our health, jobs, economy, education, and our very connections to each other and to the world disrupted, it is essential to remember that an even larger crisis was already underway, and it remains an imminent and worsening threat to all humanity: climate disruption from fossil fuels. Our work with climate change and our work with keeping the virus under control implies a sense of community responsibility. We are all in this together.

We must learn what the men and women running for office this fall propose to do about the climate crisis. Policies chosen to address the effects of the pandemic can, and must, also tackle the climate crisis, or any pandemic recovery will be short lived.

Climate Change Awareness and Action surveyed the candidates about this challenge in late July. Here is what we’ve learned so far. Candidates in bold have responded. Responses are added within one day of being submitted.
